Safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene are essential to human life, health and well-being.Drinking unsafe water impairs health through illnesses such as diarrhoea, and untreated excreta contaminates groundwaters and surface waters used for drinking-water, irrigation, bathing and household purposes.

Growing up in a clean and safe environment is every child’s right. Access to clean water, basic toilets, and good
hygiene practices not only keeps children thriving, but also gives them a healthier start in life.

Despite COVID-19 putting the spotlight on the importance of hand hygiene to prevent the spread of disease, three billion people worldwide, including hundreds of millions of school-going children, do not have access
to handwashing facilities with soap. People living in rural areas, urban slums, disaster-prone areas and low-income countries are the most vulnerable and the most affected. This is according to unicef (https://www.unicef.org/wash)

Kabebe has launched a large-scale public awareness campaign in Nakabango to promoted good handwashing behavior, hygiene, physical distancing, and the use of face masks using posters, videos, social media messages

What are we doing ?

We aiming at availing easy access to clean water good hygiene in Nakabango community and other parts of Jinja by

  • constructing boreholes
  • digging wells.
  • Clearing bushes off water areas
